Make the Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the tomato sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Set aside. It’s sweet, savory, and perfectly balanced. (WATCH FULL VIDEO BELOW)
Cook the Beef: Heat a large skillet (or Dutch oven) over medium-high heat. Add the butter and minced garlic and sauté for about 30–60 seconds until fragrant — don’t let it burn.
Add the ground beef and cook for about 5 minutes, breaking it up with a spatula, until fully cooked and no longer pink.
If there’s excess fat, carefully tilt the pan and spoon it out (or blot with paper towels). Season with salt and pepper.
Simmer the Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet and stir to combine. Bring to a light boil, then reduce heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for 10–15 minutes, or until thickened to your liking.
(Want it looser? Add a splash of water. Want it thicker? Let it simmer longer or stir in a small cornstarch slurry. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.)
Add the Cheese: Stir in the grated marble cheese until melted and creamy. This step makes it extra rich and slightly gooey — so good.
Assemble: Toast your slider buns until golden. Spoon the hot sloppy joe mixture onto the bottoms and top with the bun lids.
Optional (but highly recommended): Brush the tops of the slider buns with garlic butter and warm them in the oven before filling. It takes them from good to unreal. (WATCH FULL VIDEO BELOW)
