Ingredients

  • 16 oz Brussels sprouts
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil for marinating
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil for baking tray
  • ½ cup sunflower oil for roasting

Method

Prep the Brussels:
  1. Wash and dry your Brussels sprouts thoroughly. Remove any outer leaves that look wilted, trim off the ends, and cut them in half.
Season & Marinate:
  1. In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, sweet paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and maple syrup. Let them marinate while you prep the oven.
Preheat & Heat the Tray:
  1. Preheat your oven to 390°F (200°C). Grease a baking tray generously with sunflower oil and place it in the oven for 5-10 minutes to get the oil nice and hot. This step is key for that crispy exterior!
Roast to Perfection:
  1. Carefully remove the hot tray from the oven (watch out—it’s sizzling!). Place the Brussels sprouts cut side down on the tray for maximum caramelization. Drizzle with the remaining olive oil for extra crispiness, then pop the tray back into the oven.
Finish & Serve:
  1. Roast for 20-25 minutes until the edges are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven, let them cool slightly, and serve warm.
