Quick & Easy Spicy Garlic Noodles Recipe (with Chili Oil)

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz noodles lo mein, spaghetti, or ramen (I used kaidong)
  • 3 tablespoon shiitake mushroom oil or sesame oil
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes adjust to taste
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • chili oil optional
  • ½ cup water from boiling noodles
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • salt & pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Cook noodles: Boil noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté garlic: In a large pan, heat shiitake mushroom oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant and lightly golden, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  3. Make sauce: Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and chili flakes. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  4. Toss noodles: Add cooked noodles, noodle water & spices to the pan and toss until evenly coated in the sauce.
  5. Finish: Remove from heat and top with green onions & sesame seeds! Add chili oil if you'd like it spicier!
