Course: Dessert, Snack
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 36 regular Oreo cookies yes, the whole cookie – filling and all!
  • 6 oz full-fat cream cheese softened
  • 14 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
Optional Garnishes:
  • Sprinkles additional Oreo crumbs, or extra melted chocolate (for drizzling or dipping)

Equipment

  • Food Processor

Method

  1. Make the Filling: In a food processor, blend the Oreos into fine crumbs. Mix the crumbs with softened cream cheese until smooth and well combined.
  2. Form the Balls: Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture and roll them into balls. If the mixture is too sticky, refrigerate for 15 minutes before rolling. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour or freeze for 30 minutes.
  3. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and oil in 20-second intervals, stirring after each time until smooth.
  4. Dip and Coat: Dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, swirling to coat. Tap off any excess and place the balls back on the parchment-lined sheet. Garnish with sprinkles, extra Oreo crumbs, or drizzle with more melted chocolate while still wet.
  5. Chill to Set: Let the chocolate set by refrigerating the balls for 1 hour.
