Ever tried to make Homemade Ginger Ale? No? Well than you have to try this! This recipe is all about making a ginger-infused simple syrup and mixing it with seltzer. Super simple!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh ginger root roughly chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 lemon halved
  • sparkling mineral water
  • ice cubes
  • lemon slices for garnish optional

Equipment

Method

  1. In a saucepan, combine the chopped ginger, brown sugar, and water. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Let it simmer gently for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the ginger infuses the syrup.
  3. Remove from heat and allow the ginger syrup to cool completely. Once cooled, strain the syrup into a jar and discard the ginger pieces.
  4. To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes. Add 2-3 tablespoons of the ginger syrup and squeeze in the juice of half a lemon.
  5. Top it off with sparkling mineral water and stir well to combine.
  6. Garnish with a lemon slice for an extra refreshing touch. Enjoy your homemade ginger ale!

Notes

Note: Do not skip the lemon juice at the end!! It's not the same without it:)
