Assemble and serve!
- Preheat the air fryer – Set your air fryer to 400°F (205°C) and let it preheat for 5 minutes.

Storage
Store any leftover Smash Tacos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. To reheat, place them on a hot skillet or griddle until warmed through and crispy. Avoid microwaving as it may make the tortillas soggy. Add fresh toppings after reheating for the best taste!

Top tips
- Use High Heat for a Perfect Crisp:
Ensure your flat top or griddle is smoking hot before adding the beef. High heat is essential for creating that crispy, caramelized crust on the meat while keeping it juicy inside. - Smash Immediately and Firmly:
When you place the tortilla on top of the beef ball, use a sturdy smasher to press down immediately and with firm pressure. This ensures the beef spreads thinly and evenly under the tortilla, which helps it cook quickly and achieve maximum crispiness. - Don’t Overhandle the Beef:
Handle the ground beef as little as possible when forming the balls. Overworking the meat can make the patties tough. Gentle handling keeps the texture tender and juicy.
FAQs
How do you know when smash burgers are done?
Smash burgers are done when they have a deep, crispy brown crust and the meat is no longer pink, usually after 2-3 minutes on high heat. You can also check for an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) to ensure they are fully cooked.
