Hey you! I’m Maja (ma-ya) from Maja's Recipes a home chef, recipe developer & content creator!
I’m a 22-year-old who found my passion for cooking after tying the knot at 20. Giving it my all to balance studies, work, and a healthy lifestyle.
I love to share mouthwatering recipes crafted for busy young people, proving that good food is not all that difficult and time consuming to make!
I love sharing recipes because there’s nothing better than enjoying tasty recipes with friends & family!
Let's Start From the Beginning...
From a young age, I've always loved to cook. I come from a family where we cooked many traditional Balkan meals from scratch! I always found myself in the kitchen with my mom asking tons of questions & trying to help her out!
During my awkward adolescent phase, most of my time was spent on my computer, making tons of iMovies, where my love for editing shined through. I've always been very extroverted and amazed by technology! (Little did I know this would spark my interest in content creation)
An Interest in Cooking was Born...
In high school, my editing interest died off for a while, but my love for cooking was born. I started making meals on my own & started to rely more on myself for every meal! I felt very proud at the time, because that meant my mom didn't have to make all the food!
But I was no professional, in fact, I made many mistakes in the kitchen, lots of trial & error to get to where I am today. We all start somewhere, that's why I emphasize to any newbies starting out in the kitchen, that it's beyond okay to mess up a recipe, because it's all trial & error.
The best & only way to learn how to cook is hands on!
However, initially, I ended up following the traditional route, which was study like crazy to get into a good university & naturally, studying took up most of my time. Cooking was only a hobby (little do I know it would become my whole job!)
The Pandemic Shift
When the pandemic hit school was online, my family up & moved to Europe, we were taking care of my Grandpa who lived on a farm. I really got to experiment with fresh ingredients & experience real European food!
In the summer of 2022, me and my husband tied the knot! I started cookin' like crazy & Maja's Recipes was born!
I had so many friends & family asking me for recipes I was developing, I decided that I had to document it all somewhere while rekindling my joy for editing!
Grateful Beyond Words...
If you’re like me & you’ve had someone telling you that your not capable of doing something or that it’s not a good idea, don’t pity yourself, put your faith in yourself & get the work done. Because that commitment is going to be the best decision of your life.
I am so happy I found a dream job that I am so passionate about! I am even more grateful for the kind community that I have built & all the kind people I have met.
Thank you for being a part of the Maja’s Recipes family. Let’s cook, bake, and create memories together!
Warmest regards,
Maja’s Recipes Team
I would recommend an easy pasta recipe! Start with my Creamier Carbonara or an easy oven recipe; Bang Bang Chicken Skewers!
Yes, I do! I have my famous Green Goddess Pasta! I also have a healthy dessert option, my Date Snickers!
