Bacon

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. Add the bacon and cook for 2-4 minutes on each side, depending on your preferred level of crispiness. Remove and set aside.

Chicken

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). You can also use your air fryer at 350°F (180°C).
  2. Generously season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper (about ¼ teaspoon salt and ⅛ teaspoon pepper per breast).
  3. Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil.
  4. Once the oil is shimmering, place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook undisturbed for 4 minutes on each side until they are nicely browned.
  5. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast the chicken breasts for an additional 9 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Canadian Bacon Strips: Regular Bacon, Turkey Bacon or Prosciutto.

Olive Oil: Avocado Oil, Pork Lard or Sunflower Oil.

Equipment

Oven-safe Skillet.

Large Bowl for mixing & serving.

Storage

Store leftover chicken and bacon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Keep the salad ingredients separate to prevent wilting. Store the dressing, lettuce, and croutons in individual containers. Assemble just before serving for maximum freshness.

3 Top Tips for Success

1. Season Generously: Ensure you season the chicken breasts well with salt and pepper to enhance their flavor. Proper seasoning helps the chicken develop a delicious crust when seared.

2. Cook Chicken Properly: Use an oven-safe skillet to sear the chicken breasts on the stovetop before finishing them in the oven. This method ensures the chicken remains juicy and cooks evenly.

3. Assemble Just Before Serving: Keep the salad ingredients and dressing separate until ready to serve. This prevents the lettuce from becoming soggy and ensures the salad remains fresh and crisp.
