  • Shredded Coconut: Use almond flakes or finely chopped nuts.
  • Chia Seeds: Replace with flax seeds (however, chia seeds are highly recommended)
  • Honey: Use maple syrup or agave nectar.
  • Greek Yogurt: Substitute with coconut yogurt or any plant-based yogurt.
  • Vanilla Extract: Use almond extract or a pinch of cinnamon.
  • Milk: Substitute with almond milk, coconut milk, or any plant-based milk.

Equipment

Storage

Store the coconut chia pudding in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It needs to chill for at least 4 hours or overnight. Before serving, stir well and enjoy with your desired toppings. The pudding can be kept refrigerated for up to 4 days.

3 Top Tips for Success

  1. Mix Thoroughly: Ensure all ingredients are well combined to avoid clumps, especially the chia seeds. This will help the pudding achieve a smooth, consistent texture.
  2. Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh coconut shreds and high-quality honey enhance the flavor of the pudding. Fresh ingredients also ensure the best texture and nutritional value.
  3. Customize and Top: Customize your pudding with your favorite toppings like fresh fruits or nuts. Adding toppings just before serving keeps them crisp and adds an extra layer of flavor.

FAQ's

Why does my chia pudding not thicken?

Your chia pudding may not thicken if the chia seeds to liquid ratio is off, or if the mixture hasn't been left to sit long enough, ideally at least 4 hours or overnight.

How many days is chia seed pudding good for?

Up to 5 days, depending on the freshness of the ingredients.

Why is my chia pudding still hard?

Your chia pudding might still be hard if the chia seeds haven't absorbed enough liquid, which can be due to not enough soaking time or an incorrect liquid-to-seeds ratio.
